Bispec is a medication for the treatment of the symptoms of overactive bladder (OAB). Overactive bladder is the condition when you are unable to control your bladder contractions, which may result in leakages. The active ingredient present in Bispec is Solifenacin succinate.

Solifenacin works by reducing muscle spasms in the bladder and urinary tract (or urethra). Symptoms of an overactive bladder may include needing to urinate too often (urinary frequency), feeling the need to go to the bathroom straight away when feeling the need to urinate (urgency) and leaking or wetting incidents (urinary incontinence) and are caused by frequent muscle contractions which leads to the patient being unable to control them. This is primarily caused by the nerves in the bladder and can be caused by stroke, Parkinson’s disease, dementia and spinal cord injury. Bladder contractions may occur even when the bladder is not full, and so the patient may try to urinate and find that nothing happens. The symptoms are similar to those of cystitis. Overactive bladder can happen at any age, but is more common among older adults, usually over the age of 50.

Take Bispec with or without food. Take with food if it causes an upset stomach. Swallow whole. Do not chew, break, or crush. Take Bispec with a full glass of water. Drink lots of noncaffeine liquids unless told to drink less liquid by your doctor.
