Nodict is used to treat addiction to alcohol or narcotic drugs. Doctors generally prescribe Nodict for use alongside counselling for drug addiction. When used to treat addiction to drugs, it works on the brain to prevent the effects and feelings of well being caused by taking narcotic substances such as opiates. Nodict also helps to reduce the patient's desire to take drugs. In addition to this, it is effective at helping patients being treated for alcohol addiction to drink less or to quit drinking.
Nodict need to be taken exactly as prescribed by your doctor. After a medical consultation, your doctor will tell you the correct amount of medication to take. Because Nodict is used as part of a comprehensive treatment and rehabilitation programme, your doctor will monitor you, and may even need to conduct drug tests. It is necessary to cease opiate use for at least 7 days prior to taking this drug. Most patients will be instructed to take this drug once daily, however, in some cases, certain patients may be told to take a higher dose once every 2 to 3 days. Follow your doctor's instructions.
Side effects are: difficulty sleeping, fainting or dizziness, muscle aches or joint pain, a noticeable increase or decrease in energy levels, impotence or a lack of interest in sexual intercourse.
Besides the side effects listed above, there is also a possibility of more severe reactions occurring. You need to immediately seek medical attention if you notice hallucinations, blurred vision, pain affecting the ears, itching, breathing difficulties or any other side effects.
If given in large doses, Nodict may cause liver problems. If any symptoms of this occur, you must immediately seek medical attention. Nodict is not suitable for use in patients who are affected by any medical conditions affecting the liver.
Seek immediate emergency medical attention if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms to watch for, which may be indicative of a reaction, include skin rashes, hives, swelling of the face or limbs, trouble breathing, and trouble swallowing.
